We’ve all seen those fad diets on infomercials at 2 a.m. The reason there are so many fads– fads that change yearly, if not monthly–is largely because none of them work; not in the long term. Sure, that shake diet will help you shed ten pounds for a few months, until you start eating real food again. Once you stop adhering to a fad, the fad stops working: It’s common sense. Once you end a diet, you stop losing and possibly gain weight, which is why dieting is not the answer.
